The Art of Teaching Italian, published by Georgetown University Press in 2024, brings together experts from around the world in Italian language pedagogy, applied linguistics, and second language acquisition to address the field’s most pressing concerns and challenges with examples of creative teaching. Featuring contributions on a wide range of topics—including diversity, equity, and inclusion in the language classroom; remote learning; and the role of digital humanities in language learning—this edited volume blends empirical research with practical strategies and recommendations for teachers. Giulia Guarnieri is Professor of Italian at Bronx Community College/CUNY.  She specializes in Second Language Acquisition, Translation Studies, Modern Italian Literature and Film and Urban Studies. She also leads several faculty professional developments such as First-Year Seminar, Online Training, Podcasting and Writing Across the Curriculum.
