The Center for Integrated Language Communities (CILC, one of sixteen National Language Resource Centers) is offering a virtual multiliteracies pedagogy workshop this spring for L2 instructors of all languages.
This workshop introduces participants to multiliteracies pedagogy, an approach centered around target-language texts. Participants will learn how to use this pedagogical framework to create and implement language learning curricula, and be guided through:
- defining, selecting, and evaluating target-language texts for their courses.
- developing a lesson plan using the stages of the multiliteracies pedagogical framework.
- designing activities that build their learners’ textual understanding, and help their learners connect form with meaning and explore cultural practices and perspectives.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have a set of ready-to-implement lessons tailored to their course objectives and learner needs.
Note: Space is limited to 16 participants to ensure individualized support and feedback.
